The Wellsite Permit to Work Association held its Annual General Meeting via videoconference on 26th October 2023. Thank you to those member representatives who were able to attend. On behalf of the Board, I would like to sincerely thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to working with you on the Association’s future endeavours.

Over the last financial year, the Association has seen growth in all areas:

  • Number of member companies – grown from 36 to 43 with 8 new members joining (Clear Cut Interventions Australia, Expro Group Australia, Helmerich and Payne Australia, Pro-Test, RFM Offshore, Secure Well Services, Superior Energy Services Australia and Tasman Oil Tools);
  • Number of total people trained in the System – over 16,000 (up from 15,000 in the previous year);
  • Number of Course completions – 2,230 with 62% being first time users compared to 58% last year;
  • Use of Wellsite Digital has more than doubled from 12 rigs to 28 rigs across the Cooper Basin, Queensland, and Western Australia; and
  • 15,300 digital permits have been processed compared to 8,950 digital permits during the previous period.

Moving into 2024, the Association aims to:

  • Continue to rollout Wellsite Digital with an emphasis on infield support;
  • Develop a new Learning Management System to deliver improved user experiences;
  • Update and produce a new version of the Handbook; and
  • Explore the creation of a new training module that will serve as an introduction to the System for both new entrants to the Industry and entrants with significant employment gaps or inexperience with the Australian Industry.

I must extend the Board’s and my own appreciation and acknowledge the services of the following System Operations Committee members who have left this role:

  • Vincent James (MPK)
  • David Meesey (Savannah)
  • Bronte Gale (SGS)

Wishing you all a wonderful and safe festive season.
