This year, the focus of our activities has been progressing the Industry transition to Wellsite Digital and preparing for the next iteration of our training materials. At the end of June 2022, the total number of trainees had increased by 1,025, bringing the total number of Users trained in the System to nearly 15,000. Given the conditions the Industry has experienced over this period, the Association is glad to observe a return to normalcy after several challenging years for onshore oil and gas drilling, workover, completions and related wellsite activities.
I would like to welcome our newest Director, Colin Habarow, who has replaced Tony Preston. Colin, as the Shell QGC Health, Safety, Security and Environment Manager, is applying his skills and Industry knowledge and has already provided important assistance in the Wellsite Digital transition process.
In welcoming Colin, I must also extend the Board’s and my own appreciation and acknowledge the services of Tony, who retired earlier this year. During his tenure which began in 2017, Tony’s work with the Board and Audit Governance and Risk Committee has provided the Association with invaluable guidance and support in its operations, and in the development and the rollout of Wellsite Digital. The Association extends its thanks to Tony and wishes him every success in his future endeavours.
Yours sincerely
Rob Wallace – Chairperson
