The 2020-21 period has seen the completion of Phase 1 of the Rollout of Wellsite Digital, with the coverage of the Wellsite Digital increasing rapidly to 12 rigs.

The method successfully employed in the Phase 1 rollout involved the deployment of Wellsite Digital to a small group of Member companies in the Cooper Basin for limited loading onto field assets and subsequent use for the generation of permits.

Throughout Phase 1, we are grateful to have received outstanding feedback from the participants and in particular from Ensign’s Users, which has enabled us to produce significant improvements in the features, functions and usability of Wellsite Digital. The key changes enhancements we have been able to make based on this feedback are:

  • The ability to preview permits
  • A new permit pack download function
  • Users being able to view key permit data on screen without the need for opening the permit
  • Users are now able to attach additional files to permits
  • An on device “Submit issue” function for enhanced technical support
  • The ability to nominate the verifier by Wellsite Permit Authority for work precautions and isolations
  • Permit scheduling functions for issuing permits which specify work duration to enable enhanced site activity planning for Rig Managers
  • New visual aid for Users to check for permit expiry via colour coding and for connection to the Wellsite server
  • Reduced bandwidth consumption for database files by 90%

The Association would like to extend its thanks and appreciation to all of our UAT and rollout partners and in particular those many other Users who provided feedback; your contributions have been invaluable and will ensure the System continues to remain the Industry standard.
