Wellsite Digital is in the final development stage with testing well underway, and with all issues being resolved efficiently while allowing for the inclusion of last minute improvement suggestions to further enhance the ease of use and efficiency of the App for permitting work on wellsites.
Feedback received from the field-testing is overwhelmingly positive, and the team is pumping with energy and enthusiasm in readiness to rollout this awesome product.
Digital App
In order to accommodate Member’s IT security policies and protocols (such as WiFi segregation for example) we have improved the App to allow instances to be visible to each other (OCR, WPA, WPH) when processing permits. We have achieved this through implementing cloud-based synchronization that will allow visibility between devices. This method has been tested successfully internally, and although the Covid-19 situation has understandably resulted in some delays we have begun a second field trial in the Cooper Basin and Queensland CSG to test the cloud-based synchronization.
In addition to this change, we are also implementing further measures for permit data security including the wellsite data fencing and trials on all of these new features are being incorporated on several rigs in Queensland and South Australia.
Digital Administration System
All system functions such as creating user accounts, enrolment and payment, dashboard and reporting have been developed and are functional and are currently being fine-tuned.
Rollout and Training
Due to the unique circumstances created by Covid-19 we are working on new ways for supporting our Members and Users as we embark on this digital system journey together. The App is very intuitive and simple to use with an in-built offline learning function to allow users to become familiar with the entire process for a permit lifecycle. In addition, and to support all users, further online training resources are being developed in the form of video snaps and an online training manual.
The collaboration between project participants including Association Members, WPTW Users, the WPTWA Admin Team and the Developer has been outstanding. Let’s keep up this great work moving forward.
The effectiveness of the outcome will be measured by its responsiveness to user requirements – so we will continue to invite User feedback at all project stages – even after the Wellsite Digital system is launched.
